Enjoy with an appetite awaked by fresh mountain air the homemade delicacies of the dairy maids on the 55 Gastein alpine meadows, which are farmed from June to late autumn.
Alpine golfing pleasure
Those who have once teed-off at the 18-hole Gastein Golf Club know that this course is among the loveliest in Austria. The picturesquely arranged fairways integrate harmonically into the natural terrain at the feet of the enchanting Gastein mountains. The Golf Alpin Card – for 38 courses, 11 within a radius of 50km – gives you a diversity of reasonably priced offers!
Customs and culture
The time of the farmers’ autumn has arrived when the summer comes to an end! Tradition and customs mediate to you a lively insight into rural life in the Gastein Valley. Numerous events are to be enjoyed during this special period.
The musical tradition in Gastein can be traced back about 200 years. Music was played for guests on special occasions during the “bathing period” as far back as the 19th century. The cure concerts quickly became established as social events. The “cure” music in the Gastein Valley also plays an important role today. The music season lasts from the middle of May to the end of September, whereby as many as three concerts are given daily.
Gastein in winter
Whether you are a skier, a boarder or carver, in the four skiing areas of Gastein, with 200 kilometres of snow-assured runs, you will find the run of your dreams! As a cross-country skier and snowshoe hiker, you will love the peace and remoteness of the natural landscape.
A cure with your family
Mutual experience makes children strong and families happy! Discover the child-friendly Gastein Valley during your cure stay with your family: dam building on a stream, climbing on the mountains, baking bread on an alpine meadow, observing ibex, and a great deal more. The Pongi Holiday Club in Dorfgastein opens its doors to children from 4-12 years in July and August. From Monday to Friday, between 10am and 4pm, Pongi undertakes all kinds of exciting things with the children! Your children are competently and safely cared for by trained, specialised staff at the Pongi Holiday Club, while you recuperate in peace.
