South on the Tauern Autobahn (motorway) to Bischofshofen, Gasteinertal exit, then highway B 167 to the Gastein Valley.
from Innsbruck approx. 2 hours:
take the Tauern Motorway to the south to Bischofshofen, take the “Gasteinertal” exit, then the 167 main road into the Gastein Valley.
Coming from the South, drive via Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz and reach Gastein comfortably from there on the car train. Tauern Railways car-train timetable.

Railways
Euro- and Intercity trains and fast- and express trains stop at the Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein railway stations, but not all trains stop at Dorfgastein. There are constant taxi- and bus connections to the individual communities. The nearest car-train loading point is in Bischofshofen. Luggage transfer is undertaken both ways by taxi.

Gastein Alpine Road
The Panorama Road is about 7km long and leads through numerous galleries or tunnels from Böckstein (Nassfeld), at an altitude of 1,600m, to Sportgastein.
